 Hey guys,
Im new to the mil surp, so be kind!
I purchased a enfield No1 mark 3 today for $50!
I knew the guy and he has treated it reativly well over the 38 years he had it. It says enfield 1916 but from all the photos Ive seen online it looks a smidge different. The " wood on the top is gone and it looks like someone "sporterised" it. But it still has the original wood fore-end and buttstock with a brass buttplate. I would like info from all you who know.
Ill send a photo tommarow that should help alot. Handles real nice cant wait to put a few through it next week. I can give you more details like numbers and markings if you ask. There is alot of numbers and symbols on it!
I guess for $50 I cant go wrong but I would love to know more about it.
Again be kind ,Im a waterfowler and am getting into more rifles aside from my Marlin 336 and a couple others. Thanks.

Havin' been "sporterized" youe LE is worth about $50:) Probably of zeo interest to a true milsurp collector/enthusiast

Full wood military un-bubba's LE's seem to be getting harder and harder to find.
I can remember in '76 (or maybe it was '79) surplus stores selling them for $29... They had barrels of 'em.
If I knew then what I know now.....

Hey for $50 you cant go wrong, most people sell the mag for $40. Shoot it & enjoy, then maybe you will want to see what a full military shoots like. From there its a downward slide to a safe full of milsurps you can't live without & a bank account constantly in overdraft. Have fun!

you can always try and put it back to original configuration(as long as the barrel isn't cut) No1Mk3's are harder to find parts for but it's an interesting project which will also help you learn about the rifle
