I'm loading 223 for a semi auto, non-cannalured bullets (75gr Hornady match). The instructions for the Lee factory crimp say to touch shell holder and then screw in 1/2 turn for a start. I did this, I see the crimper collets close gaps half way when watching from above. Did it do anything? Didn't seem like it. Should it be obvious? How much crimp is enough and how do I determine that?

I usually only do 1/2-3/4 only, and cycle a few through the AR and caliper gauge them after for depth to see if its changed, unscientific but its worked for me.
