Lee four hole turret press

I got the lee four hole turret press for christmas and tried it out for the first time tonight. it works fine when i push a shell up into a die but when i lower the ram and the turret turns before the shell has enough time to leave the die and it catches on the die every time and is getting to be a pain. has anyone else had this problem before? if so how did you fix it? should i take it back and get an RCBS press?

The auto-indexing feature only works for shells that have an OAL under 2.25(?) inches. To disable auto-indexing, lift out the turret plate, and then remove the indexing bar. Once you reinstall the turret plate, you have to manually rotate the turret plate as you go.
