Ordering one of these Lee Precision - PRO CASE FEEDER RIFLE - LP-90663 (LP-90663)

from Western metals.

Is this the right case feeder for .223 on my Lee Loadmaster? I googled it, and got some scary results indicating some issues. Is there a bushing I also need to order?

Thanks!

Dan

The loadmaster feed system kept tipping my 223 cases (and I had to hand fill the tubes anyway)
I got pissed so I just started hand feeding.
It was as fast anyway, hand feed with right hand, place bullet with left hand, cycle, repeat.

Now I fixed it with an xl650 with feeder and have zero issues.
What an incredible press.

The loadmaster is ok for smaller runs when you feed it primed brass to just powder/seat/crimp.
I still use it for test batches of cast 9mm ammo just because it's setup for it and I usually only load 50 rounds or so at a time.
I use my xl650 to provide sized and primed cases, and then load those with the loadmaster.
(That's because I have a toolhead already setup with dies for my cast load, and I don't want to mess with my toolhead setup for FMJ production, or gum dies, etc). I hate setting up dies so I would rather just have 2 toolheads with 2 sets of dies and never touch the settings)

Lee dies work fine for 9mm loading anyway, why bother.

I have a Pro 1000,don't bother with the case feeder, its tough to get to work well with rifle case, just hand feed them in(I still keep the slider in,just remove the tubes and assembly)

I've never had any problems with the 223 in the 1000- maybe you just need to do some more adjusting- most of the lee stuff other than what's on the machine is just a GIMMICK= I STQAND CORRECTED- THAT IS ONE OF THE DIFFERENCES BETWEEN THE 223 AND THE LOADMAster- no , you do NOT need a bushing- you can clearly see the busing in the photograph it's in the shell feeder- the reason he tells you to remove the bushing in the video is b/c he's using a 30 CALIBER SOMETHING OR OTHER OR BETTER- leave the bushing in for 223 unless it hangs up on the case
