Can I take a set of handles off a Lee 2 cavity mold and put them on a 6 cavity mold? I've just finished 180 lbs of ingots and it's time to mold shop.

I've never heard of anyone doing that. I'm pretty sure it would require extensive modifications, and in fact I don't think it could be done with an practical level of effort.

More importantly, the Lee 6-cavity mould handles have become the defacto standard. All the semi-custom mould makers build their moulds to take Lee handles (MP, NOE, Accurate). And the Lees can be modified to fit Lyman and RCBS moulds without too much trouble. I recommend switching your mentality to "Can I take the handles off my Lee 2-cavity moulds, throw them away, and make a 6-cavity handle fit instead?".

Regular Lee moulds have the handles pin to the moulds. You would need to drill the top of the mould into the pins and use a punch to hammer the pins out then modify the handles to fit the six cavity moulds. A lot of work to make work properly and possibly ruining both moulds. For the price of Lee mould handles it isn’t worth the effort. Go buy the proper handles there cheap.

I don't think the 'arms' on the two cavity handles are long enough to reach the mounting holes in the 6 cavity blocks.
Given the cheap price of the Lee 6 cavity handles I don't think it's worth the effort to try to convert two cavity handles.

It would not be worth the difficulty to do that. Or try to put them back .
The proper handles arent expensive, $30 ??

when I purchased my Lee molds the handles were $17
and I could easily grind them down to fit RCBS molds
(note I'm not much older than the pyramids in case you thought so)

Well if you think that is expensive go buy new RCBS or Lyman handles. My first Lee handles where $18. My last set of new Lyman was $54. Have since seen them priced higher.

I remember the days when they was less than $20. Today there $30. Not much of an increase. The biggest increase in this gear has been in the last 12 - 15 years. Wow. Not long ago early 2000s, the Lee classic cast was $90. Now they are $240?
Still the best hobby though.
