Lately, I've been playing with a couple of Swedish Rolling blocks in 8 X 58R Danish. While rummaging thru a friend's mould collection, we came across this older LEE mould, single cavity, GC. No markings on the mould. The only markings on the box are 8mm KAR. The boolit, out of the mould weighs 235 grs and measures .335". Any one familiar with this mould? On the subject of moulds, I've been on Castboolits looking for information on this cartridge, and everyone seems to be using a LEE boolit called a "LEE MAX" weighing around 240 grs. I can't find any information on this one either!! Any help, advice, information is greatly appreciated!

This is the one I have been trying for 8x58R:
https://leeprecision.com/mold-dc-c329-205-1r.html my barrel slugs nearly this size but I haven't shot enough to report results still. Many slug closer to standard 324 but I wouldn't be surprised if throats were in the large side too.

335" sounds pretty big but might not be out of line. Different groups get custom runs of molds from Lee. Track of the Wolf has round ball molds not listed on the Lee site and I've heard of others doing that as well as group buys and customers one-off orders. Asking on castboolit forums is probably the best way to track down a mold.

I have both molds and have shot them in my Swedish Rolling Block in 8X58RD. They are/were sold through a US outfit "Midsouth Shooters Supply":

Mine weighed more than advertized (with wheelweight) and dropped nowhere near 0.335"! Mine are: Karabiner - 0.328" and 230 grs; and Maximum - 0.328" and 250 grs.

There used to be less commonly found Mauser rifle in years past competition Mauser converted to 8.15x47R (?) for range use. A single shot rifle 1920s or thereabouts.
These fine Mauser rifles appear from afar to look like any other K98 magazine fed Mauser in full wood format.

maybe
