Lee pistol dies

Hi just looking at the lee 3 die cabide pistol set and they claim yo dont need a taper crimp dies because the flare is removed in the seating die. So i was wondering if that really works as they claim or should i buy the deluxe kit that comes with a factory crimp die or just get the 3 die set and get a lee taper crimp die?

I prefer the Lee FCD compare to just the Lee crimp die. The FCD does not only crimp your finish round, but it further re-size your finish round all the way down the full length of the loaded brass. I use Lee FCD for all my pistol rounds.

are you using jacketed bullets with a cannelure or cast lead bullets.

I run the 3 dies set for my 10mm.... nary an issue yet.

I've been using the 4 die (FCD) sets for 9mm .45 ACP and .38/357 and have been very pleased with them. That said, I have not reloaded and shot any without the FCD to compare.
