I just received a Lee Anniversary reloading kit for x-mas and after i got some help from my cousin in setting up the reloading dies, we started case preparation. That went all fine but when i started dispensing powder from the lee powder dispenser, i noticed static build-up (small grains of powder clinging to walls).

Question#1 - How do i remove the static from the plastic hopper safely?
Question#2 - Is it dangerous to keep the powder sitting in the hopper while not in use for some time? (2 -4 days?), i emtied it already as it isnt in use.

Thanks

I just take a strip of Bounce or other fabric anti static stuff and run it over the inside of the PVC container. Haven't had any problems with contamination from the anti-static strip causing misfires or duds.

As for storing the powder in the hopper 2-4 days, nope, as soon as I've finished that particular handloading session, any leftover powder goes back into the original container. Just good handloading practice!

Thanks guys, i will feel a little bit safer knowing that the static does go away after time, if not then i'll definitely try the anti-static fabric stuff.

Thanks alot!

I agree it is good practice, however if you only use one powder, it is OK to leave it in the hopper for a few days providing you have a reloading area that is tamper proof from inquiring minds.
