Lee Pro 1000 and rifle rounds

Hi CGN,

I use a Lee Pro 1000 for my pistol rounds. But am thinking about loading 6.5cm, anyone use their 1000 for 6.5cm or any rifle rounds? I have read up on Google a little and apparently can be done but looking good for first hand feedback.

6.5cm is a taller case than a .223

The knock against using progressive presses for reloading rifle rounds is that the charge metering isn't sufficiently accurate to produce consistent ammunition. Progressive focus more on volume than accuracy. Not what I'd be looking for reloading 6.5cm YMMV.

NB - this is what I've read, I have no direct experience with a Lee 1000 or other progressive presses - I reload single stage.
 
Reloading 6.5 creed in a lee pro 1000 is putting lipstick on a pig. Its a caliber designed to shoot long range accurate shots. Not for plinking. But to each his way of spending his hard earned money... oh, and it won't fit. Like the previous gentleman, .223 is pretty much the max.. maybe you could do it not using the bullet feeder but you'll have a hard time getting a decent seating of those long bullets... lipstick on a pig.
I would suggest 7.62x39 if you need to plink instead of 6.5 creed
Just my 2 cents...
