I have a Lee Pro 1000 set up for 9mm recently decided to load 10mm with it too. Being half asleep, i ordered a shell plate carrier for .40sw thinking that it would be the same (as is the case with 10mm and .40sw dies). I totally forgot about primer size...

As i soon found out, not only the 10mm shell plate carrier is different (Lee #19L for 10mm vs Lee#19 for .40sw), the .40sw plate carrier that i ordered (#19) is actually the same as the one i currently have in the press for 9mm.

This brings up 2 questions:

1) What parts will i need to convert #19 to #19L ?
Here's the plate carrier parts list:

Is it just the primer tray + tube (SKU: TR2164B) and priming ram (TR2436)? Are there any other differences? These parts are only $6, and it might be easier/cheaper for me to just order the parts and swap them over, unless there are other differences.

2) How difficult are these parts to swap over? In other words, will i save significant amount of time by having a complete carrier for 10mm as opposed to just changing the priming parts on the existing 9mm carrier?

Thanks!

Only difference between 10mm and 40sw will be the priming system which you are already aware of. You are good to go with large primer trough/tray/priming ram...as far as time saving, you are still going to have to remove the shell plate carrier in order to switch priming sizes so the only time u are saving is in the spinning out/in of the proper dies. Take yur time to work out any kinks as the Pro1000 is notorious for priming system hiccups
