I was reloading a batch of 9mm the other night on my Lee single stage press and using the Lee Pro Disk. I have been using 4.1 grains of Titegroup which equates to the .34 hole on the disk. However I was weighing a few and was getting like 3.1 to 3.4 grains. Can anyone suggest some hints to fix this problem?

Try using the next largest hole and weighing the charge - it's possible that hole is undersize, if the next one is throwing what the chart says it should, it's the hole. If it's not, it could be that the lot of powder you have is slightly off - in this situation, I'd go with weight.

Make sure you get a full up-stroke. Sometimes, we tend to cut-off the stroke as soon as you think hitting the maximum level. Also, make sure that the disk is mounted properly. No loose mounting screws and tap the powder canister once in a while to enable the powder to flow smoothly into the dispensing chamber. I also have this similar issue when I started few months ago. Check your weight every 25 rounds loaded.

My experience has been that the Lee measure tends to throw a smaller charge that stated. My guess is
that they have built in a safety margin.I also found that a small tap to the measure on each throw would drop in little more powder in to
the cavity.
Just make sure that your scale is accurate.

They state this in their literature, the listed capacity is the *maximum* depending on the batch of powder etc the actual charge may be much less. I started using the adjustable charge bar to be able to have measured charge weights.

I just learned about a "baffle" that can be used inside the powder hopper to ensure more consistency in powder measures, I'll be making one for my Lee Pro 1000 this weekend to see if mine improves, my powder weights vary about 2 to 3 grains.

I run the pro disk setup (teflon? coated internals), and I consistently throw 4.1gr of titegroup with the 0.34 disk. Upgrading to the pro was well worth the money.

Also, if running a digital scale, make sure your batteries are good. My scale gets squirrely when the juice runs low.

Any published loads with the Lee disk I take with a grain of salt. I start there, then often have to go up to the next size to get where I want.
The charts use a VMD to set the hole size. Unfortunately, the VMD of the powders will change a little bit with every batch. The scale should be your final say for the load.

(E)

PS
I just confirmed my setup - I`m using the .37 hole to get 4.1 grains Titegroup

all of lee's loads( disc or whatever) need to be checked against a GOOD properly calibrated scale- typically, you will find at least as much variance as mentioned, typically on the light side- and that's 231, 742, you name itsome of the old scoops were off by as much as FULL GRAIN
