Strange, innit?
All those deer and gophers that died, that obviously shouldn't have, because I didn't start out loading using a scale.
What a load of hooey!
Lee's loads are moderate anyway. Stick to the midrange, rather than trying to wring out your maximum velocity loads. Have fun shooting a bunch.
Guys the want to play with stuff like ladder testing, maximum or near maximum loads, and small increment changes, would be well advised to get a scale and learn to use it.
It's a nice thing to have, but you don't need it to be safe. Read and follow the directions. Cross check any loads you get from any source, against as many other sources as you can. Pay attention to what you are doing when you load, to avoid double charges (esp if a double will fit in the case).
You'll make ammo that works. Not the fastest. Not the most accurate. But likely fast and accurate enough.
Worked for me.
