Looking for my first AR in left hand. Would like to learn the firearm well and then compete in 3Gun. The only Left hand AR I can find is from Stag Arms, which I really like from what I have seen.

Any help would be appreciated.

From what I hear, the Stags are very good. Their 3 gun is ready to play right out of the box.

If I may ask.........why don't you just get an ambi "regular" AR? I shoot left and all my ARs are ambi. Never had a problem at the range or during 3 guns matches.

Honest, I have 17 AR-15s of different configurations and have been shooting AR's for, oh my God 30 years (Now I'm feeling old) I am left handed! Even the SPo1 with no case deflector is fine once you cut the ejector spring by 3 coils. Stop worrying about nothing, left handed guns mean some left handed only parts and if you break them they are not in the "Regular" supply chain and will therefore be hard and expensive to find replacements! Get an ambi mag release and ambi safety and you are good to go.

Thanks bobby that's the one rifle I was looking at. How is "I Run Guns" to deal with?
I bought my Stag 3TL-M from irunguns and they were great. Arms East is the Canadian dealer and they are also great to deal with. Rock River Arms also has a lefty AR. There's one on the EE but it's spendy.

If you notice my photo, that's me shooting left handed with an OLD SGW 20" heavy barrel AR during a match in Wildwood Alberta a few years ago. The case deflector was put on these rifles for a reason and it works just fine. Let me know how it works out for you. Remember, the upper receiver, bolt carrier, bolt and cam pin are all different, mess up any of these parts and your rifle is done till you get a replacement....from where and how much?

One more lefty who shoots a standard AR...never had a problem...get some ambi controls and you're good to go...my Norinco came stock with ambi mag release and safety...

The only time shells might bother a lefty is if you're shooting from the hip without a deflector. Since all/most ARs come with a shell deflector it shouldn't be an issue. I am a lefty too, I bought a DDMK18 and changed.... the charging handle, safety, bolt and mag releases for ambi parts and now I have the rifle that I wanted with parts of my choice. Also a regular rifle might be easier to resale than a left handed one.
OK

As a left hander, I've never had any problems shooting a right handed AR. You won't get gassed and not much concern of catching brass in the face. You've been used to the world having everything on the wrong side your whole life, so it's just another day. That being said, if you want a left hand rifle, go for it. I don't think it would harm your learning on an AR, as a lefty AR is a mirror image of what a right hander sees.

It's never bothered me being a lefty. I actually prefer it. I thought it would be a problem in the army (never having held one) but I didn't even notice. Just started shooting it lol. I did get a sig m400 with the ambi mag release and I like that...personal preference I suppose.

I've bought my son Lefty Stags, 16" and 20", because he's a lefty and the product is available.

If ARs were original made in left and right eject from day one, 50's, I doubt you'd find an abundance of lefties shooting right handed guns. Seems counterintuitive. Seeing how this is CGN, home of the armchair expert, I'm sure I'll be told I'm wrong in a post or 2.
