Anyone out there in possesion of a left hand bolt action made by Husqvarna under the "Carl Gustaf" models. In almost 35 years I personally have only seen 3 in left hand, one in .270 Win. and the others in 30-06 Sprg, one of which I own. These are the slickest bolt action sporters I've encountered, too bad they were discontinued for export and that while still available in Sweden, they were quite pricey in the late '80s,around $1,600.00 U.S. list.
Bummmer!

I bought one new in 1973 for $300 in shop that was closing out. It had sat in his inventory for 2 or 3 years. Who wanted a left hand rifle in those days? It was in 270 and I shot several deer with it. As you say, it was very slick and shot well. Why did I sell it? IDIOT !!!!!

Felt the same way

Yes Muddler, With no offense of course,I dare say that I could almost concur with your quote of "idiot" as I ALMOST sold this little gem away twice but quickly came to my senses when both potential buyers tried to haggle me down, and considerably at that.Must have been that final insult I guess which made me walk.I'm real glad I did! I'm working on some pics shortly.

My friends stepdad has one in .270 a nice gun.....I've been trying to tell him the barrel is toast so he will sell it to me.:D So far he dosen't seem to believe me:(

It's the HVA 1900 series of which you are talking. Either a 8000 or 9000 would be the model depending on how it left the factory as far as sights and wood goes. FFV/Carl Gustof bought out the firearms part of Husqvarna in the early 70s. The rifle is still being made in Italy by Zoli.

Model 8000 & 9000 Husky'

I believe you are correct Woodbeef as the "Crown" grade was the 9,000 which had the high gloss stock of French walnut,no sights and some minimal engraving on the reciever while the 8,000 series of which the model name escapes me,as mine came with the oiled finished stock, iron sights(I took mine OFF,mia stupido grande!),and a hard plastic butt plate,(I installed a 1" rubber recoil pad with J.P.Sauer on it.So mine is not quite original but it's certainly more recoil friendly.I believe the 8,000 only was available in left hand but correct me if I'm wrong please.I'm still working on a pic for this thread but upcoming.
