Looking for a left hand rifle. primarily for deer. Open to various calibers depending on price. Located in Alberta.

Welcome aboard, read the FAQ and get access to the Equipment Exchange at the bottom of the main page and put an ad there for Want To Buy ( WTB). good luck.

if you will consider new, Remington makes a nice left hand CDL in 270. Hard to think of a nice deer rifle than that for a lefty, unless you wanted stainless synthetic. In that case, Tikka makes a left hand T3 this year, and Browning makes some Stainless stalker Abolts in LH

Remington Bdl-Cdl,ruger 77,Browning Medallion,Micro hunter,Tikka,Savage.
Try shouldering all these for correct fit,it also depends on your budget.I own
both a Remington Bdl LH 30.06, and a Browning micro hunter LH 7mm-08 both are awesome rifles.:)

I have an Abolt 270 left hand shoots well. Depends where your hunting, I also have a win mod 94 in 356 shoots great lots of hitting power out to 200 yds and more.

I will nominate the Ruger #1. The #1 is perhaps the nicest looking of the North American built rifles. All of the controls on located on the center line of the rifle making is suitable for either a left or right hand shooter. These rifles are available in a broad range of flat shooting calibers, and are available in a variety of barrel lengths and weights.

I'm a lefty as well I have owned most of them at one time or another, I favor Remingtons as I have been going the custom route as of late. That said I like the new LH Tikka T3 they have introduced; light, nice handling and every one I have dealt with has been accurate out of the box. The savages with AT are pretty darn good as well, if you don't mind an internal box mag and the feel of their tupperware stock. Ruger M77(laminate or walnut), Browning(walnut or syth. stocks available in the Abolt II line up), Rem CDL and BDL. Other ones are Weatherby Accumark V's , Sako 75 and winchester M70 (more spendy usually). The other routes are Semi Autos, Pumps and single shots(Ruger #1/TC Encore/etc).

As far as cartridge - 25-06 rem is a great deer down cartridge, this is one of my most shot cartridges(great paper puncher pleasant to shoot and very) accurate and it works great on varmits right up to big mulies. Though U can't go wrong with a .270, 7mm 08, .308 or 3006 either. 270win, 308win and 3006 sprg over the counter ammo can be found near everywhere - if that is a concern to your situation.
