My cousin is looking for a first center fire rifle for his son(he is maybe 10 or 12) y/o), as he already has a 22.

The issue is he is left handed.

I have found Browning X bolt left handed youth

What else is out there of middle quality guns?

I looked at the SPS small and handy for a lefty but crude ya ya I know you can upgrade it to anything you want but at what cost ? I finally picked up a Browning micro hunter LH felt good fit right better caliber selection and no resson to upgrade stock is better than that crappy SPS as far as how long will it last the youth will not shoot it out on your wallet unless he has a great after school job OH then theres the Savages they have a youth great caliber selection they fit ok and can be upgraded easally I just dont like Savages for no real reason

Save the money for ammo and just get a right hand gun. I am left handed and have no issues with right hand guns. Parts are cheaper, the gun is cheaper, part are available everywhere and are not special order, and he will learn to use 99.999% of the guns out there. The only gun that he will need to have left handed is a bullpup type one.
