Hello,

My friend would like to get into skeet. She is a little under 100 lbs and has trouble shooting my 12 gauge with target loads.

To make things easy, she is also left handed.

Can anyone recommend, or do they even know of a left handed 20 gauge pump?

I am not saying it is for everyone but I am a lefty and shoot all right handed pumps especially 870 wingmasters with no issues. She should give one a try.
If not like the boys say a good BPS or ithaca would do the job but in all honesty a pump is really not what she should be trying for skeet. A soft shooting 20ga semi would be my choice or over under as they say. Take care

alot would depend on her budget ... I'm a browning fan .. but they arent the cheapest ... download thier catalog .. browning.com .. its free .. and you should be able to get pricing in canada for about 10 - 15 percent less than the MRSP

I tried many shotguns for my daughter,12 gauges and 20 gauges .My daughter just about quit shooting .She liked the Remington wingmaster 20 gauge and Beretta A302 semi 20 gauge.I bought and sold shotguns trying to find a shotgun that WORKED for her.If you can borrow shotguns to try is the way.

Does she have trouble holding the gun up, or with the recoil?

A pump is a disadvantage in skeet, and a serious one for newbies (that is, if they are trying doubles).

And a 20 ga. pump has a pretty sharp kick.

Lefties can can shoot RH guns as long as the gun has neutral cast in the stock.

My daughters are starting out with an 11-87 20 ga. Youth model - shorter barrel and stock. Ideal and low recoil. It is, however, a little louder with that 21" barrel, but nothing that ear plugs/muffs can't handle.

Lefties can can shoot RH guns as long as the gun has neutral cast in the stock.

thanks for all the info guys.

She can hold my 870 with a shortened stock no problem. The kick hurt her too much with skeet loads. We only shoot single at the moment and budget is an issue. The 870 express RH 20 gauge youth model looks like the winner. After she handles it of course.

shotgun

Maybe consider a 28 ga...........12 and 20's have a fairly large amount of recoil.......I'm 6 feet tall and 200 lbs. and I would much prefer my 28 ga. tubes in my skeet gun. 100 lb. lady with a pump gun is going to get turned into mush and you're going to have 1 less shooter on your hands. Shooting shouldn't become about "survival", it's all about fun.........28 ga. all the way!!!!
