I saw a fellow left hander's Lee Enfield that he had converted. He cut off the bolt handle, flipped it upside down and welded it to the top of the bolt body. He must have also machined out some of the back of the reciever to clear the handle. He had a scope mounted on the rifle and the re-welded bolt handle tucked up nicely beside it. To operate the bolt he reached up, grabbed the bolt handle, pulled it down to unlock the action, then pulled it backward. Closing the bolt meant pushing the bolt handle forward and then back up beside the scope. It worked for him.
