Left Handed Models

The Savage model I am interested in (12 F/TR) only comes in RH according to the email I received from Savage.

You are correct the Rem 700 SPS Varmint does come in LH version (they don't list the calibre choices on the net) Thanks!

i was also wondering, how about the accuracy international or j allen stocks, do they come left handed?

I also shoot left handed and have the Savage F/TR. Rather like the fact that it's right handed. Never have to take your hand off the stock and you always work the bolt, load and eject with your weak hand.
If you read up on sniper rifles, lately they have been changing to left hand rifle for right hand shooter and visa versa.
Try it out if you can borrow the F/TR from someone for an afternoon at the range.
My two cents worth.

Gents,

If the precision rifle is very heavy and you will not be shooting it offhand but rather in a supported position...you might as well have a right handed action. I am left eye dominate and only use a left handed rifle for hunting. All other applications including ARs...I use the right handed variants. It is NOT necessary to have a left handed action....

It took me a long time to find a match capable LH rifle I really liked. I am left eye dominant, right handed. With the good gun gods smiling down at me one day....I stumbled across a LH bolt/LH port Wichita Model 1375, single shot, bolt action rifle. Thanks Peter!
They are very hard to find in Canada, and are no longer manufactured brand new, by the OEM.
Certainly I could have settled for a RH actioned rifle, (and for years of big game hunting I have)
But I feel, if one is fully realize there potential in LR shooting, an ergonomically friendly rifle, can only help produce better scores. Mind you this is a bolt action, I could care less with my fine Garands.
(less elbow shifting)

To each his own...........Cheers!

I have shot my friend's right hand, Rem 700 VS in .223 Rem, in a varmint match, and liked how easy it was to single load the rounds.

I like Remington rifles.

You can get a LH VSF in; .223 Rem, .22-250 Rem, Or .308 Win.

Unless you wanted to mess around with PPC cases or a 6.5x284, you really don't need anything else.

I grew up shooting right hand guns left handed only because of right eye surgerys and left eye dominants but it wasn't until I actually handled a left bolt rifle that I realized what I had been missing. I got 2 custom rifles built; 308 and 338LM and everything fell into place. My suggests, for what it's worth, if you're willing to invest in a gun that will truly be a precision firearm, let us build you a left handed custom rifle that is set up for you to fit you and you will never look back.
