Just curious what all the southpaws do when they want to run a chassis? Especially in a Tikka Inlet. It seems most companies only offer lefties for the rem700 footprint but not tikka.

I know MDT does left hand SA for the most part (They do have a LA in the upper tiers ) an of course XLR makes an ambidextrous chassis but wondering what others are out in the world that won’t cost me both arms and a leg :)

Looking for something a little different for my tikka to sit in. I like the ability to adapt a chassis to a shooter. I have also been looking at the GRS stocks but for some reason keep getting hung up on the idea of a folder for compactness in travel.

Just looking for some more ideas. Let me know if a folder is a waste of time ?

Cheers,
B

Has the MDT ACC ever been offered with a LH Tikka inlet? That's the way I'd lean if so.

If not, I know a couple guys who've had LH bolt notches milled in RH chassis. If you have a decent gunsmith, and aren't opposed to the ambit bolt notches, that would open up a pile of options.

I've had the xrs as well as the lss gen1 both in lh tikka inlets. I just can't get used to them. I can't stand the cold feel of aluminum especially on a hunting rifle. I wouldn't be surprised if they offer the new field hybrid chassis in lh tikka since they seem to be a hot seller. FWIW most rh chassis are very easy to modify. A few minutes with a die grinder/dremel and wallah. Sometimes need to remove a small section for the safety and bolt release pin.

I keep looking at the krg bravo.

If you're set on a folder I do believe mdt offers the hnt 26 in lh but it is pricey.

I’ve called MDT directly on this question and us southpaws with Tikkas are SOL for now. A little milling for the bolt and maybe an internal pin by the looks of it and we’ll have what we want.

As a lefty, I’ve always just reached over and pulled the bolt with my left hand. Never tried the left-hand bolt till I bought this tikka in .270. Got excited to mod it and have hit a brick wall.
