I love my P226...my fave gun in the safe.
As a lefty, I can never get used to Ambi controls on a pistol...Find they get in the way more than they help.

I love my P226...my fave gun in the safe.
As a lefty, I can never get used to Ambi controls on a pistol...Find they get in the way more than they help.
As a lefty I find the only platform that really needs ambi controls is the 1911 due to drawing it cocked and locked in shooting games. With most other guns i find it easy enough to rack the slide and hit the mag release with my index finger

Well I spent some time at the range with the little Savage yesterday and I can certainly appreciate the lefty-ness, lol. Was just easier to manipulate overall than a right handed version. Though using a right handed rifle is entirely possible, using one after trying the lefty made it feel awkward and harder. If I was a hunter, I think I’d want a lefty if I was shooting bolt action.
As for semi’s, I made sure I had the casing deflector on my AR and my 10/22 has never given me grief. My brother had an AK years ago and that was no trouble either.
Anyways, glad I bought it and have the opportunity to shoot ‘normally’.
Gotta go eat my fish heads now... lol
