Hello to all I am looking for a Left handed rifle for my son in a 30-06 caliber and something that bis a bit shorter he has short arms and with a detachable clip. Thanks

Someone had a lefthanded Savage in 30-06 for sale in the Equipment Exchange (EE). If you don't have access to the EE already then you will have to request access from a moderator.

Being a leftie sucks. I am forced to travel to long distances shop, and the selection sucks. And I find with the exception of Savage the rest of the gun makers like to punish us by adding 100 plus dollars to the price. I own a model 700 in 270, it shoots well, a 22 mag Savage (awesome one hole gun) and 2 weeks ago I picked up a tikka .223. If my opinion means anything go with a tikka. They hose u on the price of the mags, but they are one hell of a slick unit.

lefty sounding off.

tikka sounds like what you want. Hope it isnt a daily shooter though- tikkas are way too light to shoot 30-06 comfortably unless its one shot hunting.
savage
remington(some people hate the new quality)

Im dying over here for winchester to drop a left hand model 70 on us....

Hi, Im a lefty as well. If you want a left handed bolt action. 30-06 is the easiest to find. Check the board sponsors up top, P&D, Epps etc will usually have some lefty bolts in stock. Browning, Tikka, and Rem 700 are the easiest to find in lefthanded and while I don't have a remington, I do have a very nice browning Abolt in 7-08 that drives tacks, and a Tikka 30-06 that is excellent as well. Your Son would do well with either one. Good Luck in your search.

Dont even worry about getting a lefty rifle. Just get a righty its cheaper and you can find parts and service any where. With a lot of actions its even faster for a lefty.

I am a leftie.I have shot right hand rifles most of my life.In the last 5 years I have purchased a few left hand rifles.

rem 700 bdl 338 win mag
rem 700 bdl 30-06
tilla hb varmint in 243
browning x-bolt in 280 rem
above rifles are all left hand.

It is well worth looking for a rifle with the bolt on the proper side, ie. left hand

Tradex also has the Zastsva Z98 left handed in 30-06, mauser crf action. I just bought a 6.5x55. I haven't fired it yet but it seems pretty good so far. I had a feeding issue at first but tradex took good care of me and gave me another rifle.

A left hand bolt action is not the only option for us lefties. Have you considered a lever gun or a semi?

Stay with a left hand bolt trying to shoot a gun that wasnt meant for you is a bad habit and hard to break . I have owned most of them and perfer shorter length of pull ,They all have there merrits some price some weight. I bought my first Browning X Bolt Micro lefthand was concerned about being a shorter version that it may be too short. With my hunting jacket on its just right. Go to a gun shop and get him fitted . A gun is a personal preferance it should fit the one using it OH welcome to the LEFTY CLUB

Exactly. No reason to own a left hand gun that I can understand.

I was out knocking down head sized targets at 700 yds with my right handed bolt action yesterday. Is that what you call a bad habit? I guess all the shooting trophies on my wall are the result of a bad habit as well?

There is no reason we lefties can't adapt to right hand firearms and no reason we shouldn't. In 25+ years of shooting I have never owned a left handed firearm and have no plans to. Price, selection and resale value of right handed firearms is superior in every way.

Its a right handed world ..... get used to that.
