i was at the local gunshop the other day and was asking about bigger mags for my mini 30 and the owner was telling me about legal 10 rnd mags for ar15's
are there legal 10rnd mags avaible?

Only if there is a mini-30 pistol. There is an AR-15 pistol, hence the 10 rd mags.
