legal cal for deer hunting

i was just wondering what is the smallest legal caliber to use on deer in alberta i was told you cant use .22 cals for deer around here eg. 223 22-250
i was just wondering because it seams like most people are going way past overkill using things like 300WSM and 7mm WSM even 30-06 in my mind .30cal is a moose hunting round

i know 243 is a great deer round or 257rob but if you a good shot and have a well placed shot they can take a moose or even a bear

but back to what i was asking is it legal to use a .223 to hunt deer in alberta

basically any 6mm bullet - this would include the .243. It is NOT legal to use anything like a .223 up here.
There are concerns from some people about the effectiveness of the .243. I have used one on several deer and one antelope. I would not feel good using one on anything larger.
It comes back to shot placement more than anything.

My brother in law in Nfld uses a .243 for moose. Always kills his moose.

In Manitoba you are encouraged not to use any .22 calibres. Right in the book it says ".22 calibre rifles are not recommended. That being said. It isn't illegal. I have used a 22-250, my dad has taken a whitetail from 300 yards with a 22-250. But normally we use .308 or 30-30.

243 BLR or my .06 Brno. for me.I have taken 2 150 class Whities with the .243,one shot each.I wouldn`t use anything smaller,I want to eat them,not wound and lose them
