Legal shooting hours

I can't answer that question from a legal standpoint but from a safety standpoint I would say no you should not be discharging a firearm in the dark.

Safety issue

The area will be lighted by truck's fog lights, and everyone will stand behind the firing line. You are not allowed to shoot at the zombie paper targets until a red spot light shine at them, thus "JUMP OUT" & "They were coming right for us!".

Yes, it is silly. I think it will be fun! :dancingbanana:

It does sound like fun. But do not know about the legality either.. I would bet crown land is out of the question. Private land would be different, but if there are neighbours close , they could complain.

Better check on the wildlife regs.Shinning a trucks lights in a field at night here is an invitation to a jacking charge, gun or not.Almost guaranteed if you have a gun with you. There are regs regarding the allowable voltage of lights shinning in fields at night under the provincial wildlife regs here, private or public land is treated the same.

I shoot coyotes at night all the time just dont be dumb know whats out there since your just doing target find a good hill and like everyones says check with local regulations besides that have ur licsences on you I dont know of any dusk till dawn shooting hours

I called the CFC about this very topic several months back, and they told me it was up to my local CFO, who said it wasn't their problem, but my municipalities issue. When I was put in contact with them, I was bounced back to the CFC. Finally I found out it IS my municipalities issue to deal with, the answer I received (FOR MY AREA, North Kawartha) is YES. Target shooting during dusk and night is acceptable, not highly advisable but legal.

How else are you going to practice for night hunting on racoons?

I apologize for my recent remark... you can not shoot in the dark the cops will not play friendly with you and when you explain what your doing you will not sound like a responsible gun owner I was told half hour after sunset and a half hour before sunrise. yah just not a good idea sounds like fun though...
