Can anybody tell me if it would be possible to get an American 180 drum magazine across the iron curtain we call the US border? I'm thinking of adapting one for a 10-22, and buying one would be a hell of a lot easier than building one.

none said:Customs still have to follow the laws so they wont sieze the drum for destruction since its legal .They will just send it back to whatever evil place it came from cuz it looks illegal and you won't get tainted by it evilness. Its for the children and the government is here to help you.Even if you don't want their help.

Ljungman said:So how are pinned standard cap mags getting into the country? I got a 30 round AK mag from the US. I asked the seller to pin it befor it was sent. He "forgot". It was opened and sent back with a notice of our laws. He pinned like I asked and resent it. It was opened again yet forwarded to me without any problems.
Not that I doubt costums evil ways, just, there must be a way of importing them.
Ljungman said:I know excatly what your saying. I've had things held up or sent back myself. What I'm "asking" (not stating) is: How do Importers like Marstar ect do it? There must me a garinteed way.
I was thinking that it is possible but would wind up with 10 rounds or so left in the feed tower....the feed block would be removed from the feed plate to accommodate the tower. And if not still, the ARß180 upper looks really sweet!"...adapting one for a 10-22..." Not a hope. You'd have to redesign the rifle.
There are 50 round drums made for the 10/22. Of course, aftermarket mags don't always work well.
