Just bought a 4.5-14X 44 legend ultra Hd. Something doesn't seem correct. When you mount the scope to your eye the object your looking at appears smaller and further away. It isn't a lot but when compared to another older legend I have the magnifications between the two arnt the same. The field of view between the two scopes are pretty much the same as per specs but at the same magnifications the new scope is def not as close as the old. Has anyone ever heard of this happening? When you use the magnification ring the object does get magnified and the glass is really clear but it seems that the magnification isn't right. Any thoughts?

No. If I set both scopes at 5 magnification the image in the newer scope is a lot further away and smaller than the older one. even an old 3x9x40 is closer set at 5 than the newer one. Im just a little baffled.

So are the old and new scopes both 4.5-14 ? Or is. One different so your dialling to 5x mag ?? It could be somthing as simple as the mag ring isn't indexed perfectly to actual zoom ..

I also have a new Legend Ultra HD 4.5-14X44 . I noticed the same thing , I put it side by side with a 4-12 bushnell at the range . at 100 yards the image in the 4-12 is the exact same size as in the 4.5-14 wich leads me to beleive that bushnell is selling these ultra hd scopes as 4.5-14 when in fact they are only 4-12 powerd scopes.

Perhaps you got a defective one. And if there is a defective one, there is no particular reason why there wouldn't be more defective ones, and they are probably a batch of defective ones and could easily end up going to the same country, same wholesaler, same retailer...

Try adjusting the focus ring.
I've seen that on a few scopes: the clarity and magnification of the image changes when focusing.
One Vortex Viper I returned could only get a clear image either at short range (25m) or long range (100m).
