Earlier this year I upgraded from my older Swarovskis to some new Leica 10x42 Ultravids. I was very happy with almost everything about the new binos other than the cheap end caps, IMO they were very cheap and I knew they would not last. Well it only took about two weeks and a couple of easy trips in my pack, one of the end caps broke.

I sent a quick email to Doug at Cameraland and a new set was on the way. After a very long wait we realized that somewhere along the lines they were lost in the mail. Doug sent another set and they got lost along the trail as well. At this time I thought of trying something else.

Supercub was in town and wanted to go check out some local gun stores so I grabbed my binos and we went looking(I had an idea in my head). I wanted to try some Butler Creek scope caps and see if I could get a set to fit. Well I got lucky and found some, trimmed them down a bit and they work great(better than the originals).

I thought maybe some of the Leica users out there might like this tip. It will probably work with other binoculars as well. One set of caps has finally showed after many months waiting, but I think I will put them away in case I ever sell these binoculars.
