I am literally drooling over these things. With the deals to be had now plus the $350 US rebate from Leica, the price is, while still waaay up there, a bit more palatable.

I currently use an older set of Burris Fullfields for binos and have a Leica LRF 1200 Scan for a rangefinder. Problem I find is that when I'm glassing something out with the binos, I don't want to take the additional time to put them down, get out the range finder to range it, then go to the rifle for the shot. I'm always paranoid the deer, moose, etc... is gonna scoot on me while I'm hauling out all this gear. So, the range finder has seen very little actual use. I'm thinking with the ranger in the binos I'll be more likely to actually use it. Thoughts? For those who have them, how easy are these to use?

I am a bit leery of having 2k invested in a pair of glasses. I don't want something I'm afraid of using for fear of damaging them.

For those who have bought and used these, what are your experiences? I'm going to have to sell of a few toys and liquidate to fund the purchase so I want to be damned sure before I take the plunge.

I have a set of the 8x42 Geovids and as we all know they are a great bino. But they are by no means fragile, more like bomb proof. You get yourself a set of Leica's and you'll take them every where you go just in case there is something to look at. FS

I very nearly did when shopping for a range finder, but the dealer had a pair of Zeiss 10x45RF on clearance.

I think that the geovid are quite good. You should be very happy with them. As previously noted, I do bring the Zeiss with me 'in case there is anything to look at'.

I just bought a pair of 10x42 Geovid HDs in May,to take advantage of the rebate. The day after I bought my HDs,the rebate was changed to exclude the HDs.I did receive my Rebate from Leica.

I've had a pair of 10X42 Geovids since 2006. They have been flawless. I love 'em. Optically, I can glass for hours with zero eyestrain. Rangefinderwise, they couldn't be easier to operate. There is a rubber button that falls naturally under your right index finger. Tap it once and the rangefinder reticle appears in the barrel, place the reticle on what you want to range, and tap the button again, and you have your range. The only drawback I find is that they are a little heavier and bulkier than I would like. Yes, they are spendy, but you'll have 'em forever, and I doubt you will ever see them cheaper.

I have a pair of the 10x42brf. They are the clearest, brightest bino's I have ever looked through. "This is like what God would see, if He had binoculars!" . They are a little on the heavy side, but lighter than carrying binos and range finder. This will be my second season with them, and so far I have no regrets. They ride around in the truck all the time. Look through a pair, and anything else will look like a glass of muddy water.

I've had a set of 10x42 brf's for about 3 yrs.
I don't think I would go hunting without them, I've had them to africa twice, caribou hunting, moose hunting, bear hunting, deer hunting and they are still ticking without a hickup, so I think they are tough enough.

I don't think optically they are quite on par with the best non-rangefinder glass (el's etc) but they are pretty damned good. With the rangefinder built in I think they are grrrrreat.

Some of the current prices combined with that rebate makes them the deal of the century in my opinion- If I needed a pair of hunting bino's I wouldn't even consider anything else.

Geovids !!!!

I finally parted with the cash...... ordered a set of 10x42.... All I can say is WOW. They are an awesome set of binos, i took them to work, one of the contract welders took a five minute looksee.....and promptly ordered a set. Buddy of mine bought a set.....

Awesome glass. Couldnt be happier....

Santa brought me a set of Zeiss 8x45RF for Xmas. I've been able to range up 1680 yards so far (pine tree). The binoculars are unbelievably clear, at least as clear if not clearer than my wife's Swarovski 8.5x42 EL. Can't wait to go moose hunting with the jewel.

I just got my set of Geovid 8x42's from Doug at Cameraland.

AWESOME. It's night and day between these and my Vortex Vipers (which I thought were awesome.

Very clear and accurate. I don't find them THAT much heavier than my Vipers either which is nice.
