Lengthening a GSG-16 question

Has anyone here "lengthened" their GSG-16 to look more like an HK91? I mean, like using the same stock barrel and overall length would still be the same, but lengthening the forend and shortening the faux suppressor? There are some 3D print files available for a GSG-522 to lengthen one but I'm not sure if its been done on a GSG-16. From what I understand, they are similar but still different. It looks like I'd need to find a discontinued, near impossible, overpriced conversion for the 16 as well?.... I'd prefer not to Thoughts?

I also got tired of searching page by page in the GSG mod thread, are there any build page links if this has been done?

I'm been "hawking" for a 9" dlask barrel if they'll ever show up again, but I'm kind of leaning this way as well for something different.

Except the fact that that's a 522..

There is almost no difference between a GSG 16 and GSG 522 when you remove the charging handle, handgaurd and pic rails. Everything he did with the 522 applies to the GSG 16. All parts he used will work with the GSG 16 too.

the charging handle will definitely need to be changed if you want an HK91 replica

Ok cool, thanks! I have yet to pull my rifle apart and have a look at what needs to be done with the charging handle but I think this is something I'm definitely going to look into.
I have a 3D printer on order for some other stuff non firearm related stuff I wanted to print, then I stumbled across this. Should be a good little project.
