I don't understand why you don't get at least a cheap set of lens covers when you buy a scope. My wife gave me a Leupold scope for Christmas but no covers with it. Isn't that like buying a car and no gas in it or something along thoughts lines.
just buy butler creek flip ups, and you're set, rain or shine
any scope i've bought came with those stupid bikini covers, but what good are they if you don't have them on while in the field
Every scope I have ever bought has come with covers. I rarely used them but with my last scope I bought bulter creek covers and I think I will be putting more of these on.
I bought some screw-in Leupold flip-ups last year and gave them a try. After some wet weather I flipped them shut. Next time I opened them I had water spots on the scope so bad I couldn't remove them. (Just sent scope in for service this week) The flip-ups are a bit cumbersome if you're hunting thick stuff too, just more stuff to get caught on branches and whatnot. I removed mine and now my scope just have those butler creek scope bikinis-work great.
If you're real set on the covers though I'll sell you mine, shoot me a PM. They were on a vx3-3.5-10x40...
All my Bushnell 3200s come with covers. They are useful for the range and storage.
None of the Leupolds come with cover. For the range guns I put the Bushnell factory covers on. The Bushnell covers serve that purpose well. For the price you pay for Leupolds they should provide a pair of covers.
For all my hunting rifles I use the Butler Creek covers. All you have to do is to make sure they fit tight on your scope.
My Mark4 Leupolds all come with Butler Creek flip-up covers. Good to go. But for my price point (read: range work only) optics, I'll go and buy some Butler Creek covers from www.ellwoodepps.com one of our board sponsors.
