Lesser powered loads for less recoil?

If you want to use loads that low, I'd recommend getting Trail Boss. Really really.

I've seen people use "Pillow filler"... I've never tried it cause it seems to be too much of a pain in the butt for what its worth. Save yourself the headache and potential un-even burn; keep the SR4759 close to the recommended loads but don't go above max - because it burns so fast it could cause some pretty high pressures.

yeah, I was quoting the starting load..going for lowest possible velocity for this case. Ill also try to find some trailboss. As for pillow filler/Dacron, Ive heard of this being used a lot too. Ill take a look around.

In my reduced cast bullet rifle loads that use Alliant 2400,Unique,Red Dot,Titegroup and Bullseye to name a few I've never used a filler with these type powders and it's not recommended. Fast to med fast burning shotgun and pistol powders are easily ignited with just standard primers.

A filler is only used when the appropriate usually med to slow burn rate powders and load density of around 80 % is used and only then do you use just enough to fill the air space between the powder and base of the bullet. lesser powder loads

Here's one for 30/06 shooters. 170 Hornady FP (30-30) bullet over 47 gr. R15. I have used both regular and magnum primers with satisfactory results. Haven't chronied it but it should be around 2450 to 2500 fps. According to Hornady this is within the usable limits for this bullet.

I worked up the load using some extrapolation and have fired a couple of hundred rounds with no problems. Pleasant load to shoot with good accuracy.

Would be the equivalent of a .307 Winchester load and be excellent for deer or practice.
