Had a nice grizzly cold at 20 mtrs the other morning and let him walk. It was just at daybreak and was on my way out the highway to a job when I spyed him, stopped and stalked him up to about 20 mtrs but he just wasn't quite big enough, MAYBE he would go 7 ft and beautifully colored with a nice thick even coat, a good bear for here but not a monster by any means. I watched him mooch around and finally wander off through the timber till he was gone from sight. No regrets, he was a pretty bear, maybe I'll see him again, older and bigger, but not likely.
We can fill a grizzly tag only once every three years and I haven't shot one in many years now even though I buy a tag every year. Still looking for my 8 footer.

Great experience. I was fortunate enough to have lived in Northern BC for three years and always loved it when I had an unexpected encounter with a Grizzly. They are far too majestic an animal not to hold out for the " right" one.

Very nice! Glad you didn't shoot game spotted from the truck.

Not sure how else one is supposed to see game, airplane? You must take into consideration that we in the Yukon are NOT allowed to bait, and we have exactly 11 roads, seriously. Some people are lucky enough to catch sight of a good bear from boats on the rivers, but I see no difference, still a motorized vehicle. Argo.........no difference, we have very little access to our back country here, no cut lines and very few trails, so almost all hunting is conducted with the assisstance of some sort of motorized vehicle.
If you just threw a pack on and went grizzly hunting you could go for months and never see a bear !! Not sure how else one should do it, Mig.

I tip my hat to you sir for passing on the smaller and letting them grow...........good luck harvesting your 8 footer!
