Hey guys, just finished building my ar-15, great for 600-700 yards shooting, decently accurate with milsurp ammo, pretty darn accurate with match.

although im missing some extra power and range, so I am considering building a new platform. It will be used mostly for 1000-1200 yards shooting. I thought about a M700 in 300WM, not used to that caliber but heard it is a very precise round.

so I was thinking about a 700 series, I really remington's long-action action and there are lots of upgrade for it. So I was thinking about getting a 26" fluted barrel that i'd like to give a chrome finish to, in a .300WM caliber, with a JAE-700 stock that i'd paint in a winter camo with black leaves decails.

so You guys have any recomendations regarding anything, where could I get a nice fluted barrel, and as for bolt milling, any good recomendations? Ammo wise,is the .300WM good or should I go with something else.

as for the 700, I know there are many many models, what would you choose?

If you do your homework on the winningest 1000 yard BR cartridge, it is the heavy 30's: 300 Win Mag

Having said that, there is a whole ton of reloading skill and preparation needed to fly bullets to a kilometer and beyond. TR class shooters compete to 1200M using just a .308 ...that cartridge is certainly capable plus it will give you 5 times the barrel life and it is much easier to shoot longer strings. It would be the more logical choice for starting short and working long. Otherwise your choice of platform is perfect.
