lets have a debate or opinions(re-moose tags)

I understand what fogducker is trying to say here and BTW he certainly knows how the moose draw is run here in Ontario and I know of the hunter he is talking about with "horse shoes up his ass" this guy did pull 2 tags in a row.... My group always goes for the Guaranteed tag and we always get our choice, but we usually have 1 extra hunter that we don't need in our group and apply single for that license. Every year this has happened we end up getting lucky and win a single tag, now I realize this is the luck of the draw, but it makes you wonder sometimes. My advice is to always apply in a group and if you have extra then go for the single app.

It IS possible as some areas had surplus tags. After all groups and persons in pool one that applied for a tag for that area had drawn one, the persons in pool two were then eligible for the remaining tags.

yea that the whole reason for a pool two is for the access tag they just dont apply to any areas were i hunt!

I went my first nine years in pool one for 60 without getting a doe tag!
 
One of the things I have dificulty understanding is when hunter numbers have dropped drastically-why LEH tags are so hard to get-even in low odds areas.In the last 10 years or so,I've only drawn 2 bull tags-in low odds areas, one was a single ,the other was a group[2]-3 years ago.No luck this year for a group [3] draw in a low odds area.

Are the moose numbers really that low they need these antler restrictions-even in areas way north?

I know I could go way north for ''any bull'' or try the early season for ''any bull''but I don't like shooting an animal then risk losing it to spoilage-a factor when hunting 24 hours from home.

The moose numbers are lower and therefore tags alloted are lower also, around here in NW Ontario .The lower numbers are attributed to higher calf mortality due to black bear predation and poaching...ooops... traditional ancestral killing rights... using ultra-modern methods..i.e...high-powered guns, high-powered 4x4's, high-powered boats&motors and high-powered spotlights .:mad:
