I'd appreciate that :). Looking for a Tikka T3, Remington 700 or 7. Don't really have the money for another Sako 85 or that'd be ideal. Also I don't really care for the Ruger Compact LSS.:)

Well RHS hooked me up with a .260 Rem. :D. My question is, have any of you factory Remington pipe guys tried 140's of any kind in your 9 twist barrels?

re 260 140,s

I have had the best luck with 140 grain nosler Partitions in my Rem 700 LSS Mountain rifle using V V N-560 and using a max load from the Nosler Manual. Make sure you work up to that load. There is a noticeable increase in recoil with this load compared to the 120 and 125 grain loads. Still not bad just a little snappier in a lite rifle.

I have a new to me 260 that I will start loading for in the spring, have a box of 130tsx and a box of 130swift scirocco2s that I will be trying first. ruger compact 16.5" barrel, my new brush gun, have a 2-7 weatherby scope on it so it will be for close range mostly

Yup, my T3 is 1 in 9, I think the newer ones are now 1 in 8, anyway I've shot 140gr a-max and bergers with good success.

This is what I like to hear Gringo as the 140 Berger/Amax was what I wanted to fool around with.

Even though a .260 Model 7 in an EDGE stock with a 2-7 Leupy isn't exactly a long range precision rig :D

140 gr out of 700

Archie,

I have had great results with 140gr Sierra SBT and 46 gr of H4831sc out of my remington 700 CDL LTD. I can consistently group .75-.5 at 100 yards. Remington brass, WLR primers. OAL 2.765. I get 2650 fps.
