I'm honestly getting really tired of the fact that what USED to be my favorite subforum - Black and Green Rifles - has degenerated into a mishmash of threads about straight-pull bolt actions (ugh) and mediocre AR180 clones (meh). Let's get back on track with what Black and Green Rifles should be... NICE modern semi-autos that we can still own, despite all of the Liberal bull####! Here are some Tavors to start...

My ACR. Currently waiting on a Templar lower, but there's a few parts already swapped out like the trunnion and handguard.

I always enjoy the debate on quality?

It should be high cost semi autos, as I have seen a few low cost semis that are every bit dependable and accurate as high cost semis, but I also know that some low cost semis are not high quality.

So does a high quality semi have the following.

1. Tough plastics
2. Chrome lined barrel
3. Parkerized barrel
4. Multi coiled springs
5. 2-3 MOA
6. Mlok/picatinny rails
7. Great service history on the internals

Other than cost just curious on criteria. :)

If the Type 81 qualifies then this thread will be damned before it truly began

Nope, T81 does not qualify. Nor does anything else that would be a better fit for "Red Rifles".

Nope. That should be in "red rifles". Sorry!

The way I see it, quality in both design and materials. Something tough enough and well enough designed to realistically at least compete in military trials / designed for military use, not just a civilian rifle designed for the range. No big gaps in the receiver to allow crud into the internals (sorry, M10X, but you should probably be in red rifles anyway!). If it is a rifle designed to meet a price point (like the WK180) I'd say it doesn't qualify. It doesn't have to be expensive to be quality.

Makes sense, as I have a friend that had his ACR bolt carrier self destruct are guns like the ACR Mil grade then? Have they been deployed with any military? If no then the contender list is pretty limited.

ACR, I'd say yep. Just because they haven't been adopted by any military, the design is sound, in my opinion. It would be better with an aluminum lower, but still, not bad.
