I'm probably not a good reference, as I've only held a G30, but here it goes...
As far as ergonomics (my hands), the XD45 is far superior. This gun I have fired, and it is by far the nicest .45 I have shot.
I also fondled a S&W 99 in .45 not that long ago. Again, for my hand, it was a better fit.
For what it's worth, I am seriously considering selling my G17, and perhaps getting a S&W M&P9 in it's stead.
Now, Glocks are well built and well known for their reliability and ease of maintenance... which is why my 17 is still in the locker!
$.02

Well unless you get one with an extended barrel over 106mm they are prohibited except to grandfathered people. (Must have owned a short barrel pistol before 1995)

I see they have them at Questar with an extended barrel. (see above)

The grip extension is a Pearce; generally regarded as the best for the compact Glocks.

You do know that in Canada we cannot carry right? So, no boosting for you :)

Thanks for clearing that up ;)

Yeah, Questar is the place to go to for compact Glocks - No problem.
In regards to accessories the Pearce extensions, Glockmeister and LoneWolfDist are both Canada friendly :)

So what "gats" (firearms for the rest of us:p ) do you own?
And what is your experience in general with the hobbie? Im new to all this so Im quite excited.

A better question is what have I "owned" - Unless you have an unlimited supply of money, I find I for the most part "rent" firearms for a short while, then sell them to buy new firearms :)

I owned at least 20 restricteds and 40 non-restricteds to date :)
In my opinion everyone needs the following: x1 12-gauge shotgun, x1 .22lr rifle, x1 pistol (9mm, 40S&W, .357mag/.38spl or .45acp) and x1 .223/.308/7.62x39 rifle for a starting point for a collection :D

As many here will tell you, it's an expensive hobby and whatever you decide to get, it will not be your last; good luck on getting your RPAL.

I've had a Restricted Glock 27 (.40s&w), with an aftermarket barrel to allow the restricted status. Accuracy is as good as a full-size pistol, but that's not saying much. Would like to try one in .45ACP though. $0.02

Mr. G37

How long did it take to process/get your FAC and RPAL?

Did you take the cource? Should I pay for the cources at a gunclub?

Last question. I notice that a lot of you guys are from BC. Im living in ontario right now and I plan on moving to Victoria Bc in September... So Im wondering If the licences differ when moving from BC to ont?

thanks... Holla!

BC is much more gun friendly...The gun community out here is great and there are tons of folks who are talented and happy to teach you skills.

Now dispense with the gangster rap s**t now please. I know it's a joke but it doesn't help promote the sport and it's members. No 'hating up on ya' but this site is VERY PUBLIC...Think about it.

By developing skills I mean IPSC and various clubs/ work shops such as our very own SLAVEX's "skills and drills' night. DVC Ventures (Smokingunfx here) has opened a pistol specific range and the folks who work there are champ. tac pistol shooters.

Welcome aboard big hommie and get your PAL!

Stormbringer is a mod here and a dedicated advocate of shooting sports, PM him and ask him what is the best course of action to get certified.

I am stoked for you brother... Shooting sports rule:dancingbanana:

Here is a snapshot of my G30 and I hold this pistol in high esteem. It is small/lightweight but it is still a very handgun of light recoil. I do not see a lot of difference in my ability to shoot either the Glock 30 or a compact XD 45. These are both fine weapons. Regards, Richard:D

Thanks for the info. I also am a pig pitbull fan... I own a 12 year old Am staff and i love him to death. They are banned in Ontario now so I am Grandfathered in. As far as joking around goes, I clearly threw in a disclaimer. So dont be trippin'. :bigHug: (alright ill cut it down  )

here is a pic of my pooch... but ill try to stay on topic.

Richardoldfield is in Michigan where they have no silly rules about 106mm barrels.
