I'd like to hear from other collectors with similar interest. I have SOME information on the guns pictured below, but am always looking for more. I'll be happy to share what I've learned with anyone interested in these fascinating little gems. mauser

HERE ARE TWO of my long-barreled single shots. TOP is a MODEL 1920 FIALA made in Connecticut for probably less than a decade. Although it APPEARS to be a semi-auto it is actually a mag-fed, single-shot that must be hand-cycled after each shot. This is a "Special Order" 12 1/2" barrel. It has the attachment holes in the butt for the detachable Fiala walnut buttstock. This gun was available as a cased, 3-bbl set with 3", 7 1/2" and 20" with walnut forestock and the detachable walnut buttstock - all for $35. Got lots of info on these Fialas. BOTTOM is a Quackenbush "Bicycle Rifle" with 12' bbl. - sans folding wire stock to keep it legal - that has a side-action breech. I have VERY little info on this model.

TOP - This is a WAMO POWERMASTER .22rf single-shot I recently picked up. There is a lot of discussion as to whether it was produced by the same WHAMM-O (or however else it may be spelled) which is famous for Frisbee discs, Hula-Hoops, sling-shots, etc. Whatever, it is a great little gun. I have SOME info on this gun - except that nagging manufacturer one. BOTTOM is the ONLY firearm made by Sheridan who makes air guns and pellet rifles. This is the SHERIDAN KNOCABOUT. YES, it is spelled with only ONE letter K... Great little tip-up barrel, single-shot they hoped would appeal to the trapping trade. However, it was introduced just as trapping as a major trade was on its way out. I also have its original box which has the Instruction Sheet printed inside the lid - neat idea...

More Info On The Wamo Gripframe

Hi agit-prop. Check the grip of the Daisy Model 100. Identical. Only made 1963. Floyd Hyde Engineering Corp of Alhambra, CA invented a semi-auto BB gun and later sold the rights to Daisy. Interestingly, Wham-O was also located in Alhambra. For more info AND PHOTOS go to the Pyramid Air Gun website at http://www.pyramydair.com/blog/2006/01/airgun-makers-that-spawned-firearms.html some interesting stuff there. mauser
