Hi all.

Any of you run into this?

I've sourced out rings for my Anschutz 1416D and came to Leupolds 54234 11mm Dovetail Rimfire rings.

The clamp side just doesn't seem right.

Any thoughts?

I even rotated the clamp and it's a bit better but there is such a huge gap still.

There are good dovetail rings out there, but the ones you have aren't among them. I'd think about sending them back. If you want good dovetail rings try Talley, Warne, BKL, or Sportsmatch. You could get J&P Custom Products 11mm dovetail to weaver adapters made for Anschutz rifles and use Burris Signature Zee rings, which are well built, won't scratch your scope, and can use inserts to allow for long distance shooting. See https://www.jnpgunsprings.com/index.php?cPath=8

Annoying at most.

Looks like a trip to the store again.

Another issue with Leupold rings...gonna try Tallys or Burris....

Thanks everyone.

That is the correct part number for the 11 mm high rings from Leupold. I've used them before on an Anschutz 54 Match action with no problems. I'm actually building one up right now in a benchrest configuration as a Christmas present for my son.

I have those on my cz scout and they fit like a glove. Annie and my scout are both 11mm. Annies have been 11mm forever.
The only difference from Annie dovetail to the CZ is the CV is flat on top and not rounded. The rings don't go down to the bottom when installed there is a small gap between the bottom of ring and the bottom of dovetail on the gun.The ring bottoms on the top of the round part on the Annie.Just like your picture.
The second picture appears to be correct. Are the rings tight in the second picture?
Phone Leopold and get it straight from them don't always take what you sometimes read on the internet forums as the truth. Just "sayin" there is an good amount of keyboard drivel out there on a lot of forums. I have been shooting them for 3 years and no problems about 3000 rounds with my scout. They are so solid that you can pick up the rifle by the scope no problem. I have spoken to the tech guys in the US and they are very smart dudes quite helpful. There is also a service center in Alberta and I sent them a scope for repair in July and had it back in 8 days.Had the "ao" fixed. That is what service is all about.I think you will find that the rings are correct.Leopold has been in the game many years and stand behind their products. But confirm that with them.Report back with results. There is a post up there that suggests 3/8" dove tail rings nope don't go there you are 11mm even the Annie guys are telling you that they are correct at 11mm.

The first pic is how the rings came out of the package.
The clamps are angled after tightening which forced me to rotate the clamps and I got them to look like the second picture. But both ways show one thing in common...the top of the clamp plate doesn't sit in their v-grove.

Any chance you can show a pic of these rings on your Annie?

The 2nd pic doesn't look too bad.
I noticed that the top of the clamp is not in its groove, but the screw is straight. If the top of the clamp would be in the groove, maybe the scew wouldn't fit? Just a thought.

I forgot to mention if you are thinking of Talley rings the underside is FLAT and doesn't look good on the curved receiver of the Anschutz. Talley are fine rings and I use them in conjunction with FLAT top receivers but not on an Annie. You will not be happy.
Similarly with the Sport match and BKL and even B Square: They are fine rings but don't mesh well with the curved receiver of the Annie. ( Flat or open bottoms next to the curved receiver).
The point is there is something wrong with the Leopold rings; you will be happy with the correct set of Leopold rings.

I've used several Talleys on CZs but not on Annies.

But I believe there is a set just for Annies according to their website and it looks like it has the round contour.

Model 22TRH.

I had the same complaint, here my thread about it

http://www.canadiangunnutz.com/foru...fire-rings-gap-when-mounted?highlight=zastava

leupold customer service was great to work with, I sent them photos, they had a tech confirm I was measuring my dovetail correctly...they sent me 2 new different size rings to try out, free of charge, but in the end the original fit was best, similar to your pics....although it doesn't look like a precise fit, they have no issue doing their job properly, just wish they looked nicer with that big gap

I've read your thread and I'm glad we're experiencing similar issues.

I've been to my lsg today and compared 2 more sets off the shelf. Sadly, they were the same.

But to its' credit, an employee there had the same rings on his 64 with no loss of zero for few years now.

Yes, they don't look good but hold well...was the final conclusion.

Nevertheless, the store was kind enough to refund those and order up a set of Talley 22TRH.

Would be great if you don't mind posting a pic of how the talley's fit

just realized my thread lost all the image links...this is the fit I ended up going with, not pretty but only bothers me I look at it lol

When they come in I'll most certainly post pics.

I hear you my friend. Makes me cringe when I look at that.
Leupold got the contour perfect but failed on the keeper/claw. It should have been thicker and longer.

Well my Talley rings came in and I finally had some time try them on...perfect match.

Love the verticle split look...some might disagree though.
