Hi all,

I just got a lightly used Leupold 24X Benchrest scope for shooting F-Class. I have read mixed reviews, ranging from "very good", to "not great".

Has anyone used this scope? Opinions, stories? It will be used at the range only.

Thanks.

I used one on a Boyes anti tank rifle converted to 50 cal BMG. Never had a problem and when I talked to Leupold (before installing the scopewas told that they would not warranty the scope (wink wink, nug nug, ie don't say anything and they would fix it, from the Leupold rep!!).

I am still using the sope on a varmit rifle and it works fine.

Nice! I suppose using it on a .50 might have a negative effect if it's not meant for it... good to hear that it still works fine after.

I'm glad to hear you have had no problems with it. I am planning to use it to shoot F Class, mounted on a Savage 12 F/TR. I figure it has plenty magnificaiton, but I have heard some bad stories about mirage really having an effect on it.

You may find mirage to be a problem under certain conditions. You have the scope and the rifle, go ahead and give the combination a try.
How much elevation does the scope have?

Have Two Of Them And Both Are Great. Ues One On Short 1to 300 Yards And The Other On 1000 Yd Gun. Both Scopes Are Great, And I Especially Like The Fine X-hairs. A Variable Power Can Come In Handy When Mirage Really Boiling. Depending On Year The Paralax Adjuster On Front Of Scope Cav Be A Bit Confusing Until You Get Used To It. Put A Gene Davis 3x Optic Enhancer On 1000 Yd. Scope And It Is Great Also

Thanks for the input!

I got the rifle and scope a couple of days ago, and both seem great! Rifle has a great feel to it. I dry fired for a while, and the "Target" accutrigger is amazing, it's very light and breaks crisply.

I was surprised how fine the cross hair is. The scope has the adjustable objective with ranges from 50yds then every 100 til 500,and infinity. The glass seems nice and clear, and the adjustment knobs are big and easily handled.

Taking it to the range tomorrow to see how it does.
