I tweaked one of my rimfire scopes this morning, a Bushnell 4x32 I wanted to experiment with. 10 minute job. It was initially set parallax free at about 75 yards from what I could tell. At 50 yards, the crosshairs would wiggle about 1/2 inch when you moved your head side to side. I loosened the objective ring, turned the lens less than 1/4 turn ccw, then re-tightened the ring. Zero wiggle now at 40-50, the 1/2 inch wiggle is now at 75 yards. You can't eliminate parallax at all distances (if only!) but you can reduce it in your prime shooting ranges.
IMO, this is a great way to adjust a scope for minimal parallax at the distances you normally shoot at. It also illustrates the benefits of an AO scope for precision shooting at varying ranges. If you're trying to achieve 1/2 inch groups at 50 yds and your scope has that much parallax to begin with at that range, you'll drive yourself crazy unless you realize what's happening.
