I have two guns ive put Cds scopes on. 1st is my 7 mm Remington Magnum and it has Leupold vx5hd 3-15x44 cds firedot on it. 2nd is my 338 Winchester Magnum and it will have Leupold vx5hd 2-10x42cds on it. My question is would you sight in both guns and have the dial zeroed at 100 yards or 200 yards.

My 7mm rem mag 140gr ttsx @3200fps

My 338 win mag 225gr partitions @2800fps

A 200yard/200m zero will get you out to ~300 yards with out adjustment.

I then put a label on the stock or some convenient location with the come ups for 300, 350, 400, 450 and 500 yards.

There's a couple different schools of thought. 200 works well and keeps the trajectories relatively pinched down well for small targets if you're a head/neck/tiny hole in the brush/luckless gopher /coyote peeking above the grass kind of guy.

Sighting for MPBR and just using the dial when you run out of rifle is equally valid, though different.

I wouldn't do 100.
