Hey guys, I’m looking at putting one of these units in the 2.5moa dot configuration on my Marlin SBL for heavy cover hunting. Just looking for opinions on how you guys like them. Thanks Digger

Thanks Recce, I’ll look into them. Had a Vortex Sparc II, didn’t like it. Too much “body around the lens” if that makes sense. I looked at the Delta point Pro because it’s a fine line around the optic window. No obstruction. Merry Christmas

I have 2 DPPs and haven't had any issues with them. I use them them on top of my optics (at 1:30 actually) on my prs match rifles to get on target quicker, so not apples to apples with regards to your use but I quite like them.

We run the 2.5moa DPP on a 1895 ABL as the camp/bear gun. Haven’t had to point it at fur yet, but it has tolerated all the training sessions well, including the moving target exercises. At no point have I wanted to swap it out for something else. For our purposes we are mainly looking at inside 50yd shots.

Thanks for the replies gentlemen. Dave&Dar thanks for the feedback on your application.Similar to what I want it for, tight quarters fast shooting. Apparently according to one of our Leupold dealers this unit is being discontinued. Why....I dunno? They seem to have great reviews, so why would Leupold drop them is beyond me. There is still a few around to purchase, so I’ve gotta decide if I want to buy one, or look at a Trijicon RMR or something similar. Merry Christmas All!

I had a trijicon rmr and got rid of it. I like my delta point pro ALOT more. Very rugged and clear sight picture. You will like it a lot for the lever gun!

Good to know Mike. I’ve asked the dealer to get me the price and availability on the DPP. I think it’s gotta be the cats A$$
We’ll see how I make out. Thanks to all with your input. Cheers

Anyone using their Delta point on a shotgun ?

I’ve have one mounted on a Versamax for about 1k rounds and hat one on a mag fed 12ga for about 2k rds. Never had any issues.

Out of the 6 DPPs that I’ve had ive only had one failure which was on a 9mm Major open gun at ~15k rounds. Korth swapped out for a new one right away.

I have them mounted in pistols, rifles and shotguns.

Hey fella’s just to clear up a statement I made earlier in this thread. I received word directly from Leupold today that the DPP is NOT being discontinued and has no plans on going anywhere as I had been told originally. So when tomorrow rolls around, I’ll be placing my order for one. Looking forward to getting my hands on this unit. Cheers

Before committing to any other brand of MRDS, do yourself a favour and seriously consider the Holosun HS507C or it's titanium housing upgrade version. The standard Aluminum Housing/Body of the 507C is plenty tough, but with a larger and clearer aiming window than the (much more expensive) Trijicon RMR. The Holosun is priced at $430 CAD, making it one of the most affordable "serious duty" choices available. It comes with a full suite of advanced features such as "shake-awake" battery-conserving "sleep mode" after 5 min motionless, solar cell operation off of ambient light with battery back-up, indefinite battery life, choice of Dot, Circle, or Circle-Dot reticles, included Picatinny Mount, RMR Footprint for mounting, etc. The HS 507C is an incredibly sophisticated yet simple, durable and reliable MRDS by any standard and is an incredible bargain as well! The upgraded model with a solid Titanium Housing/Body steps the already-impressive durability up a final notch to equal or even best the legendary (and expensive) Trijicon RMR.

I am in no way affiliated with Holosun, just a very satisfied convert to their product, particularly the HS507C MRDS. I have over 20 handguns and shoulder arms equipped with MRDSs. 7x RMRs, 5x Leupold DPPs, 3x Vortex Razor and Venom, 1x Mepro, and (most recently) 6x Holosuns. Do yourself the favour of a bit of Youtube research such as Aaron Cowan of Sage Dynamics' legendary Review of the Holosun HS507C - you won't look back after that, trust me!

Bartok5 thanks for the heads up on the Holosun, being new to the MRDS scene (ive normally only run scopes or peep) I’ve never considered them as I never seen them as being a competitor. I did however order the Leupold DPP and mount from American defence. I will probably be in the market for another MRDS in near future, so this HS 507C will be next. Cheers

Make sure to test it out and post some pictures of your setup DIGGER. I have been thinking of sticking a MRDS on my SBL for a while., have a Sig Romeo 5 but a little too chunk for my taste.

Will Do! Probably 3-4 weeks out before everything arrives. I will do an update. Stay tuned...

I purchased the DeltaPoint and mount for my Rem 870 Tactical, but have not mounted it as yet.
After reading this and other threads on these, I have been thinking of mounting it on one of my Marlins instead. Perhaps my 41 Rem Mag or 375 Win.
