My eyes aren't what they used to be and I found the Ruger rings are situated that the scope is as far back as it will come and my eyes are still to far away.
The Deltapoint looks nice and a lot less bulkier than the Halo sight. Since I'm not familiar with these types of sighting systems your opinions would greatly be appreciated.

You'd need to get an adaptor of some sort to mount the Deltapoint on a #1. I'm sure that someone makes a Weaver or Picatinny rail that would attach to the Ruger scopemounting cuts in the receiver and quarter rail...but, wow, would that ever destroy the looks of that beautiful rifle! Personal opinion only, of course.

If it were me, I would get a set of Ruger extension rings, which will mount the same way as your current set of rings but would cantilever the scope backwards a touch and probably solve your problem. A scope with more eye relief might also be worth trying. Leupolds have great eye relief, so that you might be able to mount the scope in the same location as your current one but still see the proper sight picture.

Good luck, I hope it works for you.
