Has anyone used these? I have a set and as soon as I get the bases in the mail I'll give them a whirl. In the mean time I've tracked down another couple of hard to find ring sets and would order them ASAP is someone else had done this successfully. Here is a picture of a Darrel Holland custom that I am certain is set up with these. My main concern is ocular and power ring clearance.

Personally I would not go that low on a 700 action. 700 bolts sit a bit high, and I like lots of clearance on the bolt handle and the scope... It does not really affect your shooting that much if your scope sits higher.

I have dual dovetails on a 700 22-250, but mine are low, not super low. I am using leupold low rings oon all my remington bolts, and all of my scopes are 40mm. They work fine and I could probably get away with super low, but then the bolt would be pretty close to the scope.
Sorry I can't help any more than that.
Also how big of a scope are you planning on using?

VX III 3.5-10X40. I've used lots of low Leupold mounts.

Perhaps it's just me, but I often like to carry my rifle in one hand with my thumb over the bolt, under the scope.

Those mounts would preclude that grip; just a thought.

You'd almost want to buy a leupold scope with a crescent objective to go with these.

From the picture above, you'd have a hard time getting a butler creek cover to fit. and while not a major issue, if you have to pile out of a vehicle and load one fast in the chamber to shoot at game, you'd have a little less clearance between scope and receiver.

\Would be good on a varmint riflle, though

I have a set of super lows on a M70 with an Elite 3200 2-7x32mm. Every thing fits fine with no issues. There is 0.150" difference between the lows and super lows.
