I haven't really looked at any of the new Leupold scopes, since they changed all their models. What is the current scope(s) in their catalogue that would compare to one of the Vari-XIII 1-5X, 1.5-6X scopes?

I'm looking to mount this on a .375H&H.

They are all upgraded from the VX-111 series, most notably in lens coating and heavier springs in the erector assembly.I think the one you're thinking of is the 1.75-6 but check it out for yourself here.

I've got a heavy duplex in a 1.75-6 VX-111 on my .416 Rigby, it suits that application depending on your views on these things. I'm happier with more power on a .375.

I've got Leupold 1.75-6's on a .338, .375, and a .416.
Great scopes IMO. The .416 has the HD and at first I didn't like the reticle but it's grown on me.
Don't let anyone tell you that you can't shoot itty bitty groups with a low power scope and a HD.
You just need a bigger aiming point. ;)

I've got a Vari-XIII 1.75-6X on one of my .45-70's. It's a great variable power range, and it's the VX-3 that I am leaning to. Thanks for the info guys!

FYI, I decided to keep the 1-5X Vari-XIII on the Lott, or at least I will keep it for that rifle (may or may not leave it on).

I have the heavy duplex in one of my 1.5-5x (can't remember whether it's a VXIII or VariX III - bought new in 2006). I like it better than the standard duplex, which looks a bit fine in my other 1.5-5x. I still might have the reticle in the other 1.5-5x swapped out for a Heavy Duplex. I certainly wouldn't hesitate to buy a VX3 after using the previous generations.
