Bought a couple M8 4X32 sight unseen. Does anyone know when Leupold stopped producing these scopes? How are they are for light transmission? General opinions would also be welcome.

I admittedly loved MJ in the '80's, but I would have been seven years old when thriller was released, which means MJ would have loved me too.

Absolutely no use for Michael Jackson, but I like the M8 Leupolds.
Have a couple of 4x, 3 - 6x, and a 10x.
Never have I had a moment's trouble with any of them.
Sure do love that 6x42 with click adjustments, though!!

Leupold "stopped" producing the M8s when production on FXII and FXIII began... around 2005

M8's are a great scope, I have a few and love them.

as far as "light gathering" goes, any M8 will let you shoot till well past legal shooting time.
