leupold mark 3hd 4-12x40 reviews?

Hey guys

I’ve been eying a leupold mark 3hd 4-12x40. They seem to have what I’m looking for in a scope, at a notably lower price point than the other options on my short list. As I’ve mentioned in a previous post, this would be for a LR hunting rig, that would occasionally double as a target rifle. I’ve seen a couple NIB ones on the used market and am wondering if they’re worth a look.

Does anyone have experience with one of these? Looking for though and opinions

I don’t have experience with the 4-12 but I do own the Mark 3 3-9 and put it on my savage 220 this season for my deer hunt. The glass is excellent IMO. Elevation turret is pretty decent for the price point of the optic but I was a little disappointed that the zero stop only allows for 1 revolution of the turret so a max of 5.3 mils on mine. Tracking and return to zero has been on point. The wind age turret was my biggest complaint as it’s actually quite hard to turn but also feels mushy, but once zeroed just cap it and forget it. Mine does not have parallax adjustment but I’m pretty sure the 4-12 does and that would be a nice feature. Hope this helps!
