Ducimus, the 30mm rings, very high, see through are pretty flimsy. Really cheesy for any scope, even a gopher gitter. Save the rings for a laser or a flashlight or some accessory for paintball / Airsoft. At least nothing serious.
358,
I'm with you. I've got a knockoff Leupold M1 on my .223 Rem M700 BDL groundhog killer. We just returned from Quebec where I got in 1.5 days of hunting earth pigs. Got 35 of them. Some were 25 yards shots and many were over 200 to 300 steps away. A very confident scope especially for a groundhog killer and under $ 100 landed.
And yes, I do own 2 other Leupolds, both Mark 4 M1 LR/T versions used for serious competition only. On a varmint gitter rifle, these scopes do the job.
Cheers,
Barney
